English Borrowed a Lot of Words from French (c'est vrai)

There are so many words in English that I didn't know but now will because we lifted them from French.

More French words I didn't know before:
baiser = now this one is tricky: if used as a noun it means a kiss or a peck, if used as a verb it is the vulgar expression for coitus
un béguin = a crush (on someone)
un coup de fil = familiar for make a phone call, equivalent to giving some one a "ring" in English
bête = n. a stupid beast (can be male or feminine depending on meaning), adj. stupid, dumb
paresseux, ~euse = n. a lazy person adj. lazy, slothful
train de vie = lifestyle
soulager = to relieve, ease
malediction = a curse
defilé =  a parade, a fashion show with models walking on the catwalk
vedette = a celebrity, a film star
très chargé = to be very busy
perspicacité = insight, observant
