The Alliance Française of U.S.A. announced that there is an opportunity to enter a 300 word essay contest written in French. Basically, the essay would describe the value of my local AF chapter within the U.S. I have lots of ideas for this, I've worked on writing in French, and I think if I keep it fairly simple I will be able to enter a piece. It's no doubt a long shot to actually win the contest but it is a good French project on which I can work. So today I began writing the essay and I think it is going well. Remembering all the grammar and getting the spelling right will be my greatest challenge. When I write in French I see "red" marks looming in the background.
