My first class in a series of 5 at the L'Alliance Française entitled La politique française began this evening. The French Presidential elections coming up in about a month, so the class is well-timed. My assignment for next week is to make a presentation about the controversial, very conservative candidate, Marine LePen, President du Front National. I have been reading about French politics in the newspapers to give myself some background knowledge. I look forward to our class discussions of a system so similar but so very different.
